Being productive when working from home can be a challenge. You are often distracted and your manager always wants to coordinate with you at the most inconvenient times. The following tips will help you to maintain productivity and transparency when working from home.
1. book your times live!
This will prevent your colleagues and superiors from being unaware: For example, if you are taking a break, your colleagues will see that you are absent and will not call you. If you are in the middle of a customer call or are absorbed in an important project, your superiors will know that you are busy and should not be disturbed. Live booking makes coordination much easier and increases productivity, as you can concentrate on the project you have just booked.
2. describe your tasks in detail!
The more detailed your descriptions are, the fewer unanswered questions there will be. This allows your superiors to see exactly what you are working on and the suspicion of "doing nothing" does not arise in the first place.
3. inform your superiors regularly!
If your superiors are always up to date, there is little room for speculation. Show that you are just as reliable working from home as you are in the office. This will increase trust and perhaps give you the opportunity to integrate working from home into your daily work routine on a voluntary basis even after the "home office obligation". Create the basis for a work-life balance that suits you and show your boss that they can count on you, even if you work from home.
4 Plan your work and break times productively and sensibly!
Sticking to your break times is just as important as sticking to your working hours. Rest periods are important to stay focussed. If you are overtired and tired, your motivation and, above all, your productivity will drop. You should therefore also synchronise your working day from home. Start and finish your work at the same time as in the office and take your regular breaks. This will help you stay in your usual rhythm and you won't have to readjust after working from home.
5 Regular exercise and ventilation are important!
Try not to remain seated at your desk during breaks and rest periods. Firstly, you will tend to continue working during your break and secondly, you will become sluggish. Use the break effectively and go for a walk or stretch a little to relax your muscles and joints. Don't forget to ventilate during your breaks. Fresh air revitalises the mind and provides the brain with new oxygen. This way, you can start the second half of your working day fit and focussed after your break.
